Thank you for being the best part of the Grand Rapids Mud Run. Over the past 10 years of this incredible event, our runners have been our driving force to create tough and fun courses for our Grand Rapids community and beyond.
It’s with heavy hearts that we have decided to cancel this year’s event. There are two main reasons for this decision.
- UNCERTAINTY WITH GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS We decided to cancel this year’s run due to the uncertainty of the health climate in our state. Government mandates can change at any day/time. At this point, we don’t feel confident to move forward with the likelihood of the event having to cancel without notice due to last-minute government restrictions.
- FINANCIAL RISKS The GR Mud Run is a fundraiser for Never The Same*. As such, it’s very important that the event is financially profitable, any financial loss would be harmful to the operations of Never The Same. If we were to move forward, the mud run requires financial commitments upfront. We simply cannot put Never The Same at risk.
*Never The Same exists to help young people, we impact tens of thousands of them across the US each year. The GRMR helps us to do this. As a fundraiser, canceling the event this year will leave a financial gap for Never The Same. We would be grateful if you would be willing to help the organization through this financial uncertainty. We understand that this is a disappointment, trust us when we say that we did not come to this decision lightly. We would love nothing more than to watch you all push yourselves and conquer our muddy course. Unfortunately, we just cannot afford to make this happen this year.

If you have already purchased a ticket you have 3 options, please reply by Tuesday, August 4:
- Receive a full refund (minus processing fees)
- Refunds will process automatically, you don’t need to do anything!
- Defer your registration to 2021
- If you are choosing this option, please email info@grandrapidsmudrun.com and let us know your confirmation number and the name(s) on your registration(s).
- Donate the cost of your ticket to Never The Same in this time of need
